Company history

The long history of The Grønbech and Sons Group, the owner of Bevola, shows an immense stability, which was founded as far back as 1828.

For almost 200 years, the Danish group Grønbech and Sons has represented development, growth, change and above all stability. Backed by this stability, A/S Bevola has a strong position on the future competitive market.

Once upon a time...

Through more than 40 years, A/S Bevola has developed a considerable competence- and competitive power. More than 40 years ago, the company was founded by Bent and Ole, hence the name Bevola. In the beginning, the company sold hinges and hardware, but quickly expanded into construction and transport materials. Later on, A/S Bevola reached beyond the Danish borders and became and international supplier. In 1999, the owners sold the company to Grønbech and Sons A/S.

Why buy Bevola?

Grønbech and Sons had a division who handled the entire chassis frame, axles, breaks and air systems. The purchase of A/S Bevola was seen as an opportunity to create a complete business. Therefore, Grønbech and Sons acquired A/S Bevola in 1999. Subsequently, A/S Bevola went through a range of different phases.

Phases of development 


  • 1999: A/S Bevola is acquired by Grønbech and Sons A/S
  • 2003 - 2008:Turnaround according to the plan "Bevola in motion".
  • 2008: The new ambitious plan "Purple+" is implemented.
  • 2009: Financial crisis and subsequent succesful crisis management.
  • 2010: Stabilization, investment and and a continuation of "Purple+".

Stronger after the crisis

A/S Bevola is growing yet again with increased power, a more efficient organization and a significantly lightened cash flow. A/S Bevola holds a unique market position, having the widest product platform, the most advanced concepts, the highest degree of flexibility and the best employees in the business. Shelterede by the crisis, A/S Bevola has invested in new production- and IT technology.
